Where Transparency Meets Engagement

At The People's Hill, we believe that transparency in political discourse is not just an ideal; it is essential for a thriving democracy. Nestled in the heart of Keota, The People's Hill is dedicated to creating a platform where individuals can engage in open, honest, and constructive conversations about politics. Our commitment to fostering dialogue—both positive and critical—sets the tone for the important work we do in empowering citizens to become informed and active participants in the political process.

Our Mission: Fostering Open Conversations

The People's Hill serves as a bridge between the community and the political landscape. We strive to cultivate an environment where different viewpoints can coexist and be heard. By promoting transparency and understanding, we aim to dismantle the barriers that often inhibit dialogue in today's polarized environment. Our mission is to encourage every voice to contribute to the narrative of our democracy.

Politics needs more truth-tellers. That’s why this page isn’t just for good press — it’s for all of it. The praise, the questions, the hard conversations, and yes, even the hit pieces. I’m not running to hide from my past. I’m running to own it, to speak up for those who feel unheard, and to bring a new level of honesty to Iowa politics.

Here’s where you’ll find my journey — the full story — as told through interviews, articles, and media coverage.

Here you’ll find news articles, interviews, and media coverage about my candidacy for Iowa House District 88 and our growing grassroots movement — The People’s Hill.

These stories help paint a fuller picture of who I am, the journey that brought me here, and the work we’re doing to create a more just, honest, and accountable Iowa. You’ll find pieces covering my background, my policy ideas, the real-life experiences that shaped my views, and the vision we’re building together — not just for this campaign, but for lasting change beyond the election.

This section will continue to grow as more articles, features, and interviews are published. I invite you to check back often and stay informed about how The People’s Hill is making an impact — and how you can be a part of it.

Daily Mail- UK

Grant Hill made international headlines when he originally filed to run for Congress.

This hit piece has been edited several times, mostly after the Southeast Iowa Journal published a fact-check on them.

SE IA Journal

Kalen McCain has been an outstanding reporter for the Washington Journal/Southeast Iowa Journal and aimed to provide a fact check against the Daily Mail's hit piece put out on me a few weeks prior.

WHO Radio

Wendy Wilde reached out to me asking to do a radio interview, this was my first radio interview and she helped me through it. This was great honest reporting. They were very transparent and told me that they planned to mention my Sex Offender status. Here is a link to the article, and here is a link to the full interview.

Ballotpedia

Here you’ll find my full campaign profile. This page includes details about my background, key positions, and the official questionnaire.

It’s a great way to get a clear, unbiased look at my priorities and vision for Iowa. I encourage you to take a look — informed voters build a stronger democracy!

News & Press for Grant Hill

In the spirit of full transparency, this section includes articles and media coverage about my personal past — including news reports related to my criminal convictions and my current status on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

Many of these articles focus on the mistakes I’ve made and the consequences that followed. They may be difficult to read — but they are part of my story, and I believe voters deserve to have the full picture when deciding who to support.

My past does not define who I am today, but it does inform the perspective I bring to this campaign — one rooted in accountability, redemption, and a commitment to building a better future for all Iowans. I’m not here to run from my past. I’m here to prove through action, not words, that change is possible — and that everyone deserves a second chance.

Iowa Sex Offender Registration

Here is a direct link to my listing on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. This is a public record, and I believe it’s important for voters to have access to all of the facts — both good and bad — as they consider who to support.

I am not here to run from my past or make excuses for it. I’ve made serious mistakes and faced the full weight of the consequences. Today, I’m working every day to prove that change is possible — through accountability, honesty, and a commitment to building a better Iowa for everyone.

KCJJ News Assault Charge Dec '22

This article reports on one of the cases that led to my conviction and current status on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. At the time of the incident, I believed the interaction was consensual — but I now fully recognize it was not seen that way, and it caused harm. Like many who go through the justice system, I’ve also learned that charges can sometimes be presented or stacked in ways that sound worse on paper than the full reality — but I take responsibility for my actions, and I include this article here for full transparency. I want voters to have access to public records and media reports, even if they don’t always tell the whole story.

KCRG Indecent Exposure Charge

This article reports on another case that contributed to my conviction and current listing on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry. As with many legal situations, some details in media reports can sound more severe than the full context, and the justice system often adds or elevates charges in ways that may not reflect every nuance of what happened. That said, I take full responsibility for my actions, and I’m including this article here to be transparent. Voters deserve the opportunity to view public records and media coverage — even when it’s difficult — and to judge my candidacy with eyes wide open.
